to block the main page images eg index.html

hi,
Is there a way to block every front page images? ex block images of index.html
all of them i visit are unnecessary!
and some of the forums which have some very very high graphics that take loads of time to download.
and a rule to blocking forum images

ex. avatars, signatures, etc ..

If you really wanted to do this you could add these filters:

*.jpg
*.gif
*.jpeg
*.png

Or use Firefox's built-in image disabling options, click Tools, Options, Content, then unselect "Load images automatically"
