Blackboard and Adblock

Blackboard recently underwent an upgrade which causes Firefox to hang if Adblock is installed. The culprit is a Java applet that they call the "Visual Text Box Editor". Any time you try to use any text box of any kind, such as creating a discussion board post, or try to upload a file, Firefox hangs. If any of the developers have access to a Blackboard website (I have to do all my online classes through it), please investigate this error. This is not an unknown error either, I put some links down below... there doesn't seem to be any discussion on this board about this error so far, so apologizes if this has been discussed to death before.

I refuse to go without Adblock Plus and I HATE having to use IE for Blackboard. I, and all of my many fellow online college students would love to see this issue resolved. Thanks in advance for anything the developers could do to see if there is anything possible to do on their side.

I couldnt imagine blackboard is displaying ads? why not then just disable for that site only? You can add it as an exception filter or add the site by clicking on the ABP icon in the bottom right of the status page. (if enabled)

I already tried that; disabling for the Blackboard site only does not work. Firefox still hangs. Only by disabling the add-in completely does the Blackboard site work.

I am an instructor and have the same problem. Disabling for Blackboard or the entire blackboard server does not solve the problem. Adblock extension must be uninstalled to use most of Blackboard with firefox.
