Take a look at some things that are not so obvious about Adblock that I've learnt, feel free to add to the list
You can drag the status bar icon/text to the position you want it.
Middle clicking the Adblock icon will bring up the preference window.
You can temporarily remove something by holding down ctrl+shift and double clicking on the item on the page to be removed, this is called quick block.
To easily block flash objects you can choose [Tools->Adblock->Overlay Flash] to replace all flash objects with an image you can click on to add the filter for it.
Key-shortcuts:
ctrl + shift + b :: blocking toggle
ctrl + shift + a :: list all blockable-elements
ctrl + shift + f :: flash override toggle
ctrl + shift + k :: quickblock toggle (default-on)
ctrl + shift + p :: preferences
