First & foremost - thank you for writing & maintaining AdBlock Plus.
I have seen this bug reported here before without resolution.
With AdBlock Plus (newest version) I often cannot send mail or reply to emails:
Setup: Thunderbird 1.5.10
Other extensions: WebMail 1.0.17 (with the newest versions of WebMail Yahoo, GMail & Hotmail)
Theme: Modern Modoki 1.00
Windows XP SP2 (all updates/patches) - Lenovo Notebook
Suspected Buggy Behavior:
After launching Thunderbird, new email cannot be created, and responding to existing emails is not possible. The main text window for the body of the email cannot be activated (i.e. no cursor shows up there). It is possible to click and have a blinking cursor in the "To" address field, but nothing can be typed there and nothing can be inserted or dragged from the address book. When replying to emails, the body of the old message is not inserted in to the response email, which is blank. Also, the return address is not inserted.
This odd behavior is only intermittently reproducible when AdBlock Plus is enabled and always disappears and never recurs when AdBlock Plus is disabled. The only subscription was to EasyList (USA) and at times EasyElement. I wonder if it is somehow related to the skin/theme, but I had also seen it with other themes in the past.
In the past I had looked at the Java Console when these were reported:
Error: Unknown namespace prefix 'html'. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector.
Source File: chrome://messenger/skin/messageBody.css
Line: 55
Error: top.awInputElement has no properties
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/messengercompose/addressingWidgetOverlay.js
Line: 677
Error: gMsgCompose.editor has no properties
Source File: chrome://messenger/content/messengercompose/MsgComposeCommands.js
Line: 148
Possible bug with Thunderbird - cannot send mail
I don't know how ABP actually works in Thunderbird, but I would probably NOT use the EasyElement filter with it. I'm sure that would have unexpected consequences.
Just the fact that it "...is only intermittently reproducible" is odd enough in itself. You would think that it would be "all or none". I have no idea ... I should install it in my Tbird again just to see.

This guy has the same problem: http://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1170
I've experienced this at times when I was running Windows. Since switching to Ubuntu, I haven't been able to reproduce the problem. And subscriptions aren't the culprit because I didn't have any. The weird thing is, I used the exact same profile (copied and pasted the profile folder) on Linux as I did on Windows.

What, me worry?
Actually, I have seen it once myself. But it really happened only once and never since then. I haven't changed anything in my Thunderbird so that it is very strange. Generally, Adblock Plus doesn't touch anything in Thunderbird which could cause this effect, don't know what is going on.
Using EasyElement in Thunderbird should be just as safe as using in it the browser (but useless, I don't expect it to match anything there).
