Cannot inactivate element hiding rule in Tb

Post by alta88 »

in an experimenting attempt to block yhoo signature urls from showing, i put in 2 rules

Code: Select all

##HR + P
##HR + P + P
which, however, also blocked actual valid content urls. but toggling Enabled off did not remove the effect, nor did placing a ! in front of them, nor did deleting them entirely. not even on a Tb restart, not even on rebuilding the .msf index file. only disabling ABP removes the block, otherwise the (imap) emails are permanently broken it seems. ouch.

Sure you didn't miss some other rule causing this effect? Disabled rules cannot have an effect on anything, neither in Thunderbird nor in Firefox.

ack, there indeed was another rule. apologies for wasting your time..

which makes me recall another oddity and why i lost the above rule - i happened to sort by Filter rule once (not meaning to really since i had rules grouped for like domains not necessarily urls) and now cannot drag/drop rule order and up/down menu items are greyed out. clicking Restore Natural Order in column picker has no effect.

If you click the Filter column header twice more the sorting should disappear - you will be able to use Drag&Drop then.
