Adblock Plus 0.6 - Development builds

Fox: I don't understand which banner do you talk about ? The one at top ? What do you call "bottom" ?

Because, all banners are blocked for me...

However, I think I've understood the bug I've heard about...

When iframe are blocked, there are not listed in the "items log" !! (I've discoverd that in this http://www.hs.fi )

Because my english sucks sometimes, i give you 1 screenshot.
I did keep Mouse "hand" over that San Francisco flash during screenshot, that also says Delhi, Dubai (also when mouse is over it).

ps: and this is Firefox bug or html bug that guys at hs.fi did make.

Ah ok, sorry, I think I've all understood (my english is certainly worse than you...)

With IE, this ad is in the foreground when mouse is over, whereas it is cut in Firefox. So there's a bug in Firefox or in the HTML code.

And you was surprised that it works with mcm version (I don't want to try :p).

Then... Why ? mcm should have the good answer

mcm's Obj tabs did make it work, but mcm's Obj tabs do not work with that Flash.
They only did make that flash work. flash is "broken" if mcm's Obj tabs are off.

@Wladimir: Sorry, While testing I've disabled Adblock for That page and I've forgot about it. I was trying to block the iFram while Adblock was disabled.
Now re-enabled and it works fine.

Suggestion: Is it possible to add a function that notifies the user that Adblock is disabled on a page when the user is trying to block something on the disabled page???

I am waiting for 0.6.1 looks like that version definitely deserves 5 starts.

Wladimir, not sure if you've seen this bug report in one of the other forum topics. I can confirm this behavior though:

Using the latest -> Adblock Plus v0.6.0.4 and Adblock Filterset.G v0.2.8

When adding a filter, it adds to Adblock Plus filter list. Unlike before it would automatically go under the Filterset.G custom list. This is a problem because the moment it auto-updates, I lose all my custom filters (as they were added to Adblock Plus list and NOT the Filterset.G custom list).

The temporarly solution is to *manually* copy and paste the filter into Filterset.G list which is a pain. Can you fix this?

@SpeedKing: If Adblock is disabled on a page you won't even get a list of blockable elements there - only a message explaining the reason. And if the page isn't whitelisted but some elements of it are - these elements will appear in green. So I'm not sure what exactly you are refering to.

@tmeader: That's here: http://bugzilla.mozdev.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12959. I wrote you a longer answer but it seems I forgot to send it. Anyway, I don't think Adblock Plus should be changed to explicitly support Filterset.G Updater, I'll rather add a general feature and the updater should use it (it will be only a simple change in the updater).

Wladimir, (when i did rethink), i think SpeedKing:s whole Adblock was Disabled (Middle click Adblock). And yes we get "list of blockable elements".
If any item is blocked or whitelisted, they are not grey or green, all are black in Sidebar when Adblock is Disabled.

Also when Adblock is Disabled, we have those same Right click options that we normally have, so we need some warning or something.

Please don't take this the wrong way, tmeader - I know many, many people depend on FiltersetG. However, it's been six weeks since the last update, and often the "update" includes new terms that might NEVER apply to you.

At least with doing it manually (which I would prefer anyway because it saves you an extension and you're seeing what you get) you can

1. evaluate if the changes are worth it
2. Make sure your filters YOU made or optimized stay intact
3. Pick and choose which "alterations" to filters actually apply to you

#3 is very important, as some of your custom filters might contain improvements to FiltersetG for YOUR browsing, and are quickly (as you say) undone/erased by the update. Just my two cents - I would bet that your custom filters are the "BEST for tmeader's viewing/surfin habits," and I certainly wouldn't want mine circumvented or replaced. Plus, with the intervals between updates, that update extension just sits there taking up real estate and resources for days/weeks/months on end with no real benefit, IMHO.

Adblock Plus 0.6.0.4+

Warning: This is a development build and as a such it hasn't been fully tested and might not work properly. Use it at your own risk and make sure to save your filters list.

Changes:
- Fixed: Toolbar icon won't change when disabling (small icons only)
- Mozilla Suite/Seamonkey: Made "Open sidebar" available via context menu and keyboard shortcut, sidebar installs automatically
- Sidebar is detachable now (button in the upper-right corner)
- Removed limit for tooltip size in the sidebar
- Preferences dialog: Filters are grouped by type
- Preferences dialog: "Sort alphabetically" only sorts visially now and any sorting applies immediately
- Preferences dialog: Sorting ignores non-alphabetical characters
- Preferences dialog: Multiple selection possible
- Preferences dialog: Reordering of filters now possible
- Preferences dialog: Made filtered items in the suggestions list selectable
- Preferences dialog: OK doesn't perform "Add filter" automatically
- Preferences dialog: Line height decreased

Known issues:
- Ctrl-A in the filters list has unexpected by-effects (Gecko bug), this shortcut will probably be removed in the final release.

Preferences dialog had lots of changes, there might be problems I haven't noticed. Changing group ordering via UI and filter subscriptions (formerly "synchronization") coming soon.

Is this bug, when i add whitelisting Regex, i don't get any warning,
but anyway that Regex works. like:
@@/mozillazine\.org.*\.(gif|png)/

And rule that 1st kills them is
/mozilla.*\.(gif|png)/

Edited, because i did wanna give better example.
i'am just testing item whitelisting, those are not my real rules:)

Ok.

I have one odd thing, when i open preferences or detached Sidebar and scroll window down and then Maximize it, i don't see many or any filters/addresses anymore, screenshot.
it's this same mini-bug, i think, or is it?

It's not that big problem, because if i Maximize it first, then all filters are there, nothing disappeares.

ps: I did also have this bug with 2nd detached window devbuild, i don't remember did i have it with 1st.
