some unknown rule blocked my element ul class="advanced_search" but was not mentioned in the list of blocked elements/objects. by selectivly enabling and disabling certain rules i found out that it was the rule #*(class^=adv) from a subscription filter set Cédrics Liste (Deutschland) http://chewey.de/mozilla/data/adblock.txt
i renamed all instances of "advanced" to "extended" everywhere in my html code just in case... its a pity that the blocked element was not mentioned in the list of blocked objects, it would save me at least an hour of work :(
obj. blocked by unknown rule, was not in blocked objs. list
That's not blocking but rather element hiding - and element hiding has some important limitations (see the note at http://adblockplus.org/en/filters#elemhide_basic). You should report this problem to Cédric, too general element hiding filters in a subscription are definitely a bad thing.
I didn't get a report, but: Yes it surely is.Wladimir Palant wrote:too general element hiding filters in a subscription are definitely a bad thing.
I must admit I sort of forgot about this rule, a variation
of it already caused the problems with FF's UI. I now
changed it to "adve", not matching "advanced" any
more - and I will keep observing it closely.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
