A few suggestions

Is it possible to display the combined "hits" for each filter list?

Also i think it would be great if there was a option in adblock plus to remove rules there after a set period had not been used, would doing this improve the speed of adblock plus?

Thanks.

Unless you have a few zillion filters, it shouldn't make much of a difference. But pruning things can still be nice. You can just occasionally go into the preferences, sort by last hit and delete old filters.

Probably. This isn't a high-priority feature however, so I will only implement it if it can be done without performance drawbacks.

That's what the "last hit" column in Adblock Plus 0.7.1 is good for. I am not sure whether I want to do something like this automatically however since this doesn't really improve performance measurably (unless you have lots of regexps and you throw them out). So if this is only for a better overview - it is simple enough to do this manually every few months.

Hi there, I am used to Adblock (non-plus) + Filterset.G.Updater. I never created rules myself, always let those 2 extensions handle everything. If I ever saw a ad, I rightclicked and blocked the frame.

But I am hearing more about Adblock Plus, it would be easier and further developed, I read the development story on the homepage.

So I removed Adblock and installed Plus. Immediately I saw something I didn't like: a button on my clean toolbar... but I was happy to see it could be removed and placed in the statusbar, just like Adblock.
But now I see an icon that says really Nothing: it's red with brown, some people will see it's a Not-Allowed red thing, but no-one will ever now it's a cochroach... and they won't understand what the icon is for.

That's the main reason I switched back to Adblock.. it just says "Adblock", nothing more.. it's even clear for elder people who don't have much experience.
It would be nice if Adblock Plus also has the option of a text instead of an icon in the statusbar.

Also, after installing the Plus extension and restarting, I get the message to subscribe to localized lists... but it doesn't say what to do when your country (Netherlands) isn't listed!
Can I ignore the message if I have Filterset.G.Updater installed?

http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_customiza ... usbar_text
Or Stylish + This
(It's same CSS script, Stylish page only has Install button, if you have Stylish extension installed.)

There was Cancel -button and sure you can use Filterset.G.

You can use any of these lists, they should work just fine (and better than Filterset.G) - they are only optimized for a specific region. There is also dutchblock but it also requires a specialized extension.

In the Adblock Plus Preferences window, click the odd little thing on the right side of the bar that begins with "Filter rule".
