mrbene, who hasn't posted since October, 2005, or mcm, I think. They're the first two users and the description thingy below their avatars is "Site Admin".

Edit: I just started a thread about this.. I guess I should PM mcm, too.

Maybe the shortcut for media/ads is longer than /ads/
What's the shortcut for media/ads ?

Shortcuts are always eight characters. If the filter is shorter than that, there will be no shortcut.

Then /ads/ is shorter than any shortcut, so it's logical it is loaded first, no ?

It's just a supposition...

Sorry guys, I had been on top of the spam but yesterday was away most of the day. looks like mcm made registration mandatory now. Should handle most of the spam.

@Peng: Regarding your original question - you probably had a faulty shortcut from before the bug was fixed, any shortcut should be lowercase. This shouldn't happen with any filters you add in Adblock Plus 0.7.

Can I fix that without having to delete the filter and lose the hit count (though I guess I could always add it back by editing patterns.ini)?

I think you lose hit count, but you can edit hit counter.
Ps: I did wanna find out what is maximum hit count, so Firefox closed i did go to patterns.ini and tweaked filter hit counter, i don't remember what maximum is, but it's pretty huge number. It was longer than my some long simple filters are.

2^31-1 (2147483648)? 2^63-1 (9223372036854775807)?

What? Largest signed 32-bit and 64-bit integers, respectively. I think. Might be unsigned, not signed.

@Peng: You can remove the shortcut line from patterns.ini, the correct one will be re-added automatically.

Okay. :) I didn't know if shortcuts were created only when a filter first is. Makes sense. Recovering from weird problems = good.

Edit: Yeah, it works now. The proper shortcut was created. Oddly enough, */RealMedia/ads/ and */RealMedia/ads/* switched places in patterns.ini (not just now, it was a while ago).
