Detection script

Post by Guest »

Why are you making the detection of adblock possible? First you develop adblock plus and then you make a script to block adblock users. Is this logical? Or did you get too many flame-mails? Or did you get a bad conscience?

That was just Mr Bene playing around to see if it was possible. But have you seen anyone use it? It is very specific to Adblock and there are more widely used ad blocking tools out there if they were concerned about the small minority blocking their ads. Plus I can use XPCNativeWrapper to wrap the array object behind a security layer preventing detection by websites. Something I will look into if any site is actually using that method.

Hmm. This would be a better idea. Adblock becomes more and more popular. And many sites fear adblockers; so its only a matter of time until a site will include it.

Well there is this site which already employs ad blocking detection. But it does so in a way that works against any ad blocking program and isn't just a simple fix in Adblock to stop.
