Problems with Latest Install with FF 2.0.0.7

Post by CNC »

Following the update to the latest version of adblock I now get an error window whenever firefox opens telling that I need to install adblock. It is already installed and all the required extensions have been updated. Any suggestions?

First try to uninstall ABP using the Extensions Manager at Tools > Add-ons. Then reinstall it.

If the problem persists, then it sounds like some of your cached extensions files have become corrupted somehow. Delete the three files listed in this Knowledge Base suggestion. They are automatically regenerated when Firefox is restarted.

I tried this and still get the error. Any other ideas? Thanks again,

Adblock installation problems

Post by Lili »

I extracted the files in the extensions folder. it told me to name the subfolder {d10d0bf8-f5b5-c8b4-a8b2-2b9879e08c5d}. when i do that my status bar for one is huge. i know how to get rid of that but only when adblock is disabled. other than that adblock is not working for me. what am i doing wrong?

Lili, are you trying to install Adblock Plus manually? Why? Usually you would do the following in Firefox: File / Open File / select XPI file to install. Or even click on the "Install now" link on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 without downloading first.

Cant tune options on ABP

Post by nikos »

My ABP is not blocking ads, when try to go to Tools/Add-ons/Options, it freezes the Firefox, than I have to close it from the task manager

I use 2.0.0.9 version of Firefox.

This is such a great tool, I love it!!! When it works :)

Thanks!!!

nikos: How about Tools / Adblock Plus - does it freeze your Firefox as well?
