We are as evil as Google, the same Google he's moaning about not being able to display their advertisements... welcome to irony 101, enrolled students: algoz.

I have a website, billions of other people have websites, I even had a website before Google AdWords existed... by your reasoning having a website isn't possible without advertisements, yet I have never made a single cent from advertising. But doesn't that mean?

*BOOM - The universe vanishes in a puff of logic*

My website receives 100 fold the amount of traffic most sites that use advertisements get, which means my site costs me more money, which means I loose more money than I will ever make... why? Because I chose to have a website, I wasn't forced into it, and unlike you and other people online I post original content to my site that keeps visitors coming back, the internet got on fine without advertisements, the internet will continue to get one fine with AdBlock Plus, why? Because choice is king, and having the choice to remove all advertisements from sites run by the likes of you to read a short bit of text copied from another site with a link back to that site that has another short block of text that then links to another site doesn't classify as quality content. I donate to sites I visit frequently, me donating $5 every so often to sites I visit makes them more money than the advertisements ever could.

If you're not making money from your adverts on your crappy sites then maybe you should try posting decent content, and don't say you do, because if your mastery of the English language is anything to go by all you have is a Xanga page and MySpace.

It's a pretty retarded standpoint, there are plenty of reasons why ads are blocked... it's been happening for years.

Norton Internet Security has been blocking advertisements for years, Opera has been doing the same, AdMuncher, Privoxy, Hosts file editing, AdWatch, to name but a few. Most of those use encrypted lists, CyberPatrol blocks advertisements too, and that has encrypted lists.

Why people are directing all this negative attention towards AdBlock Plus and Firefox all of a sudden makes no sense.

With AdBlock Plus people get to see if they are or are not on a filter, sites have contacted me a few times and enquired as to why my list blocked them, I told them, they fixed the problem (spamvertisements) etc or some rogue code running on their site. That is the beauty of AdBlock Plus, whereas if Norton if blocking your site for whatever reason, good luck getting them to overturn it.

If people want to keep bad mouthing AdBlock Plus, and it's users go right ahead, you're just making yourself out to be idiots. Since this who anti-AdBlock Plus movement started all of us have seen a massive increase in the number of users we have, what does this mean? It means more people are now blocking advertisements thanks to the free publicity you jackasses gave us.

*ahem* Screw Google. Screw Google with a rusty nail.

They deserve to have a marginally crappy year after having the stupidity to think that adding video advertisements to their search results would be a good idea. In fact they deserve to go bankrupt if they ever went ahead with the plan.

But in all honesty I thought Google would have come out on top this year, I mean the countless AdSense cheques they're holding after closing valid accounts for click fraud and thus not sending out should be causing their bank account to be overflowing right?... right?

Jamie, I think you missed the point. Google's revenue dipped slightly overall (probably because of recent acquisitions) .... but this is the part that pertains to THIS topic.
Google's second-quarter revenue rose 58 percent from a year ago on continued strong search advertising sales, while profits rose 28 percent, slightly lower than analyst expectations.
Rose 58%? Geeez ... tough year for google hey? I guess it would have been 58.1% If not for ABP, huh :?

Yeah I'm half asleep here, either way Google deserve a good kicking. And even though they had a good year, like I said they deserve to have one (a crappy year), even if they didn't... they'll get what's coming to them soon enough.

Uh oh... sounds like Danny Carlton's evolving.

I thought hardcore Christians weren't supposed to do that. At least the grammar and language are now appropriate to the intellectual depth of the arguments...

No one made you install Adblocker now did they?

I am sick of this you must watch damn ads world we live in. I am also sick of "The web is free" but I have to pay $50 to get on it.

I am not against ads on sites really but why must they flash and slow my web browsing?

Why weren't people bitching back in 1995-2000 about pop up blockers?

I bet you like spam also cause it the only email you get!
