How to export ALL filters?

Post by Guest_Export »

Hi. I would like to be able to export my current filters, meaning all of them. Everytime I export them, I get only a small number of filters, that include the Exception and the Advertisement but none of the filter subscriptions.

Is there any way for me to export all of them as they exist at that moment in time?

Sorry my poor english. :)

Why would you need to export filters that already exist somewhere else? Do you need to 'export' the 'import' as a backup or something? That doesn't make any sense. How would the subscriptions be updated if you re-imported it?

Seems like the only reason that someone would want to do that would be if they wanted to build their OWN list out of someone ELSE's subscription(s). :?

Just save the subscriptions using their urls.

Two reasons:

1) because I want
2) because websites can disappear

And whats the problem with anyone making their own filters out of numerous others?? Are people now going to trademark or patent filters?

"huh huh! someone is using my ideia of using ads.*.com! how rude!"

Nothing if you want to be tagged as a lazy person who just wants to steal the hard work of others. If that's what you want to do, then go for it.

It doesn't take long to for others on the internet to realize that someone is not the original author of something ... and they do not like that. People's credibility becomes destroyed and then NO ONE wants anything that they offer ... nor is that person ever trusted in certain circles again.

Why would someone want to steal and duplicate something that is already offered for free anyway? To try to make some kind of name or profit for themselves?... it would backfire badly.

There is no need for anything legal here. People on the internet find out about these things very quickly. Trust and honor is important for good customers .... not thievery and fraud.

I have one good reason

I do appreciate the point of view of those who don't like to support "list poachers", but I do believe that it is a risk worth taking.
Rick752 together with AdBlock Plus have implied and demonstrated that supporting a subscription is the most important thing. Your attention to quality is your security.
I for one would never employ a list which has dubious pedigree.
I am currently trying to gather evidence to support a case against these mega-pirates, who steal my history without my concent then sell it to spammers who then clog my email bandwidth, and then charge me for it.
It accounts for over 50% of my Usage allowance.
I can under normal circumstances capture a single url, but right now, when I click on ABP I would like to then dump the entire list preserving the colours as well. I can't take my laptop into a Court, only a pile of paper.
I currently do a PrtSc and save the image, but the process is painfully slow.
Please tell me there is a simpler way.
Thanks
Justin
